Overview

Spring Health is a mental health company headquartered in New York City. Co-founded in 2016 by CEO April Koh and President Dr. Adam Chekroud out of research the two conducted at Yale, the company built an AI-driven clinical matching engine it calls Precision Mental Healthcare, which is designed to route each member to the specific level and type of care most likely to help them, rather than a one-size-fits-all therapy referral.

The company sells its platform directly to employers, including Microsoft, The Hershey Company, JB Hunt and Bumble, and to health plans, giving benefit-eligible members access to therapy, coaching, medication management and crisis support. In May 2026 Spring Health completed its acquisition of Alma, a network of independent mental health clinicians with roughly 26,000 providers, combining the two companies into what they describe as a single platform supporting more than 170 million lives globally across employers and health plans, with Alma continuing to operate under its own brand led by founder Dr. Harry Ritter.
