Overview
Temporal Technologies develops Temporal, an open-source durable execution platform that lets developers write workflow code that automatically survives failures, retries, and long delays without custom state-management logic. The platform is used both as self-hosted open-source software and as a managed offering, Temporal Cloud.
The company was founded in fall 2019 by Maxim Fateev and Samar Abbas, who had previously built the Cadence workflow engine together at Uber. Temporal is built on the same core architecture as Cadence but is developed and commercialized independently of Uber.
Temporal is privately held and has raised capital from investors including Sequoia Capital, Index Ventures, Amplify Partners, Tiger Global, and Andreessen Horowitz across seed through Series D rounds, most recently valuing the company at $5 billion in February 2026.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
