Overview
Terminus is a Chongqing, China-based AIoT (artificial intelligence of things) company that builds AI-driven smart city, smart building and robotics systems for governments and enterprises. Founded in 2015 by Victor Ai, a former head of China Everbright's New Economy Fund, the company is best known for its 'AI CITY' concept, an innovation district in Chongqing designed by Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and intended to be managed substantially by artificial intelligence.
Terminus raised a $73 million Series A in July 2017 and a RMB1.2 billion ($173 million) round in October 2018, both with China Everbright and IDG Capital, the second joined by AI vision company SenseTime. The company expanded internationally, including a Middle East and North Africa headquarters in Dubai and a robotics partnership with Expo 2020 Dubai, and in April 2024 completed a RMB2 billion Series D round with SenseTime and real-estate group Jindi. In November 2025, Terminus filed a prospectus for a Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing — reported as its third attempt — with CITIC Securities and Haitong International as joint sponsors; as of this writing the company remains privately held and has not completed that listing.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
