Overview
The Boring Company (TBC) is an American infrastructure and tunnel construction company founded by Elon Musk to cut the cost and time of digging transportation, utility and freight tunnels. It was incorporated on January 11, 2017 as a SpaceX subsidiary and spun off as a separate corporation in 2018. Its flagship product line is the Prufrock tunnel boring machine, and its main operating system is the Vegas Loop, a network of tunnels under Las Vegas that ferries passengers point-to-point in Tesla vehicles. The company is also building the Dubai Loop in partnership with Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority, and has announced plans for a Music City Loop in Nashville.
