Overview
Toss is the flagship mobile financial super-app operated by Viva Republica, a South Korean fintech founded by former dentist Lee Seung-gun. The company launched the Toss app in 2014 as a simple peer-to-peer money transfer service and has since expanded into banking (Toss Bank), securities brokerage (Toss Securities), payments, insurance, and advertising, serving more than 30 million registered users in South Korea.
Viva Republica posted its second consecutive profitable year in 2025, with revenue of roughly 2.7 trillion won (about $1.8 billion), up 38% year-over-year, and net profit of about 201.8 billion won, up nearly tenfold from 2024.
After first pursuing a listing on Korea's Kospi exchange, the company notified its underwriters in October 2024 that it was halting that process and is instead targeting a US listing, as early as the second quarter of 2026, at a valuation it hopes will exceed $10 billion and potentially reach $15 billion.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
