Overview
Trade Republic is a Berlin-headquartered fintech bank and online broker that lets retail customers in Europe trade stocks, ETFs, derivatives, and cryptocurrency with no commission through its mobile app, and offers savings accounts, a debit card, and current accounts with IBANs. Founded in Munich in 2015 (originally as Neon Trading) by Christian Hecker, Thomas Pischke, and Marco Cancellieri, the company relaunched as Trade Republic and opened its trading app to a closed user group in February 2019. It received a full banking license from the European Central Bank in December 2023, allowing it to hold customer deposits directly, and in January 2026 obtained a BaFin license to operate a multilateral trading facility. As of 2025 the company served over 10 million customers across 18 European countries with about EUR 100-150 billion in assets on the platform, and reported its business has been profitable for three consecutive years.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
