Overview

True Anomaly is a Centennial, Colorado-based space defense company that describes itself as the only defense technology company focused exclusively on space defense. It was founded in 2022 by CEO Even Rogers, a veteran of U.S. Space Force and Space Command, along with three other former Space Force officers, including Chief Product Officer Tom Nichols, a former Air Force space operations officer and Space Force weapons school instructor.

The company builds two core products: Jackal, a modular, high-thrust 'space superiority' spacecraft designed for close-proximity, rendezvous, and reconnaissance operations in contested orbits, and Mosaic, an autonomy and command-and-control software platform that converts operator intent into autonomous spacecraft action while preserving human authority over decisions. True Anomaly operates facilities it calls 'GravityWorks' in Centennial, Colorado and Long Beach, California, a Mission Control center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and a government affairs office in Washington, D.C.

True Anomaly's early public missions were mixed: its first orbital demonstration, Mission X, launched two Jackal spacecraft on SpaceX's Transporter-10 rideshare in March 2024, but the spacecraft suffered communication failures that prevented the mission's rendezvous and imaging objectives from being met. The company has since won U.S. Space Force contracts, including a Space Systems Command SBIR Phase 3 award and a 2024 'responsive space' mission awarded jointly with Rocket Lab, and by mid-2026 was competing for task orders under the Space Force's multibillion-dollar Andromeda program for maneuverable space reconnaissance.
