Overview
Turing was founded in 2018 by Jonathan Siddharth (CEO) and Vijay Krishnan (CTO) as a platform to source, vet, hire, and manage remote software engineers for U.S. companies, using machine-learning-based technical evaluation to match global developers with client teams. It was founded by Jonathan Siddharth, Vijay Krishnan.
Through 2020 and 2021 Turing built out what it called a 'Talent Cloud' spanning roughly 100 technologies and covering the full remote-hiring lifecycle — sourcing, vetting, onboarding, payroll/compliance, and productivity management — reaching a reported one million registered engineers across 140 countries by the end of 2021, the year it crossed a $1.1 billion valuation.
By 2025 Turing had repositioned much of its business around the generative-AI boom: rather than only placing engineers at client companies, it now supplies human coding, reasoning, and multimodal-evaluation work directly to frontier AI model developers, describing itself as 'a key coding provider for OpenAI and other LLM producers,' while also building enterprise generative-AI applications. It reported roughly $300 million in annualized revenue and said it had been profitable for about a year at the time of its March 2025 Series E round.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
