Overview

Vercel, Inc. is a San Francisco-based cloud platform company that provides infrastructure for building and deploying web applications, founded in November 2015 by Guillermo Rauch together with Tony Kovanen and Naoyuki Kanezawa. The company launched as ZEIT and rebranded to Vercel in April 2020. Vercel created and maintains Next.js, an open-source React framework, and offers products including v0, a generative-AI tool for building user interfaces from text prompts, and the AI SDK, a toolkit for building AI-powered applications that Vercel says has reached 3 million weekly downloads.

Guillermo Rauch remains chief executive officer; Jeanne DeWitt Grosser, previously chief business officer at Stripe, joined as chief operating officer on 13 March 2025, and Marten Abrahamsen has served as chief financial officer since 2023.

Vercel raised a $300 million Series F round co-led by Accel and GIC on 30 September 2025 at a $9.3 billion post-money valuation. By April 2026, CEO Guillermo Rauch was signaling IPO readiness to TechCrunch, saying the company was "getting more ready for it every day" without committing to a timeline.

Vercel's annualized run-rate revenue rose from about $100 million at the start of 2024 to a $340 million run rate by the end of February 2026, and the company said it crossed $500 million in annualized run-rate revenue in early July 2026. As of mid-2026, Vercel reported roughly 6 million deployments a day, about half triggered by coding agents, and more than 1 trillion tokens flowing daily through its AI gateway.

On 6-7 August 2026, Vercel appointed Amit Agarwal, former president of Datadog and founder of Standard Template Labs, to its board of directors, joining independent directors Mitchell Hashimoto (co-founder of HashiCorp), Susan St. Ledger (former HashiCorp field operations president) and Steffan Tomlinson (Stripe's chief financial officer, who joined the board in December 2024).
