Overview
Vultr Holdings, founded in 2014 by David Aninowsky in West Palm Beach, Florida, describes itself as the world's largest privately-held cloud infrastructure company, offering Cloud Compute, Cloud GPU, Bare Metal, and Cloud Storage products to hundreds of thousands of active customers across 185 countries.
After more than a decade of being entirely self-funded, Vultr raised $333 million in growth equity from LuminArx Capital Management and AMD Ventures in December 2024, valuing the company at $3.5 billion. CEO J.J. Kardwell has said the financing is meant to accelerate AI infrastructure and cloud computing growth, and Vultr's chief marketing officer has said the company is looking at an IPO "in the coming years," though no timeline has been set.
In June 2025, Vultr followed the equity raise with $329 million in credit financing -- a $255 million syndicated credit facility led by J.P. Morgan, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo (with Citi, Goldman Sachs, and KeyBank participating) plus $74 million of lease financing — to further fund its AI and GPU data center buildout, including a 50MW AMD Instinct MI355X cluster in Springfield, Ohio.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
