Overview
Workato is an enterprise automation and integration platform that connects business applications, data, and, increasingly, AI agents so companies can build and run automated workflows without heavy custom coding. Founded in 2013 by Vijay Tella, Gautham Viswanathan, Harish Shetty and Dimitris Kogias, former colleagues from TIBCO Software, the company is headquartered in Palo Alto, California. Workato has raised more than $400 million across five priced funding rounds from investors including Battery Ventures, Insight Partners, Altimeter Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Tiger Global, and Norwest Venture Partners, alongside strategic backers Salesforce Ventures, Workday Ventures, and ServiceNow, reaching a $5.7 billion valuation after its November 2021 Series E round. The company has not announced a new priced round since then; more recently it has focused on agentic AI, launching production-ready Model Context Protocol servers and an AI agent orchestration platform called Workato One during 2026, while shares have continued to change hands on private secondary trading platforms in the mid-single-digit dollar range.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
