Overview
Zepto is an Indian quick-commerce company that promises grocery and daily-essentials delivery within about 10 minutes through a dense network of neighborhood "dark stores." Founded in 2021 by Stanford dropouts Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra, the company scaled rapidly through India's quick-commerce boom, competing head-to-head with Blinkit and Instamart. Zepto has raised well over $2 billion in venture and pre-IPO capital across a dozen-plus rounds, most recently a domestic-investor-led pre-IPO placement in August 2026 at roughly a $4.5 billion valuation, down from the $7 billion mark it reached in October 2025. The company filed an updated draft red herring prospectus (UDRHP) with SEBI in June 2026 for a public listing on the NSE and BSE, but in August 2026 CEO Aadit Palicha told employees the IPO would be delayed by two to three quarters into 2027, citing a gap between institutional investors' valuation expectations and the company's prior private mark. Zepto reported revenue of roughly Rs 22,624 crore in FY26 (ended March 2026), more than double its Rs 11,110 crore in FY25, alongside a net loss of roughly Rs 5,905 crore as it continued to invest in store expansion.
