Overview
Island was founded in August 2020 by Mike Fey and Dan Amiga, both veterans of enterprise security companies including McAfee, Blue Coat Systems, Symantec and Fireglass. The company emerged from stealth in February 2022 with its Enterprise Browser product and nearly $100 million in disclosed Series A financing from Insight Partners, Sequoia Capital, Cyberstarts and Stripes.
By March 2025, Island had raised approximately $730 million in disclosed venture funding across five rounds, reaching a $4.8 billion valuation in a Series E round led by Coatue Management, with participation from Sequoia Capital, Insight Partners, Cyberstarts, Stripes, Georgian, Prysm Capital, Canapi Ventures, Capital One Ventures, Cisco Investments, Citi Ventures, EDBI and ServiceNow Ventures.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
