Overview
Zhuanzhuan began in 2015 as a used-goods channel incubated inside 58.com, China's largest classifieds site, and was spun off into an independently operated company after Tencent led a $200 million Series A investment in April 2017 that valued the business at roughly $1 billion.
Since 2019 the company has shifted its core business away from peer-to-peer classifieds listings toward a consumer-to-business-to-consumer model, in which the platform itself inspects, grades, and authenticates used electronics and luxury goods before resale, and it shut down its original peer-to-peer trading section on September 29, 2021 to focus on this verified-inspection business.
The company reported total revenue above RMB 20 billion (roughly $2.8 billion) for the prior fiscal year, along with more than 400 million cumulative registered users and about 50 million monthly active users, and in April 2026 it signed on as a strategic enterprise partner of the Hong Kong government, establishing an international headquarters and R&D center in the city as a base for expansion into Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America.
