Overview
Zuoyebang (作业帮, literally "Homework Help") is a Beijing-based Chinese education technology company that began in January 2014 as a question-and-answer feature inside Baidu Zhidao before spinning out as an independent company in 2015 under founder Hou Jianbin.
Its original flagship product let students photograph a homework problem and use computer vision, OCR, and NLP to search a large database of solved problems, later expanding into live-streaming K-12 tutoring, one-on-one sessions, and smart learning hardware.
China's July 2021 "double reduction" policy banned for-profit tutoring in core school subjects, forcing Zuoyebang to shut down most of its K-12 academic tutoring business; the company has since pivoted toward adult and vocational education, quality-education (non-subject) courses such as youth programming and AI curricula, and smart hardware.
Private securities are speculative, illiquid, and involve risk of complete loss of principal. You should be prepared to hold private securities for an extended period; there is no assurance of a secondary market, an IPO, or other liquidity event. You are fully responsible for conducting your own due diligence. Pricing is indicative — nothing here is an offer of securities.
